INFORMATION FOR PARENTS & STUDENTS

Notes from Mr. Hedrick...

HS/MS Parents:

Spring Activities
Track and Golf are both in full swing! We have a number of upcoming golf and track meets for the middle school and high school, and our teachers are working hard to ensure that students are working hard in classes and completing assignments. Please take time to check Power School often for these assignments, and I encourage you to email teachers if you have any questions. Mrs. Harbaugh and I check student performance in all classes, and she does a great job communicating with teachers and coaches if students run the risk of eligibility due to their grades. Incomplete, missing, or late assignments are the biggest reasons why students risk inelegibility in activities (academic or athletic). Students must remain in good standing in order to participate. Attendance in school during this time of the year is very important espcially with only 38 days of instruction remaining. Students are reminded to communicate with their teachers about lessons and assignments.

April 4th Community Day and Harold Little Memorial Track Meet
Thursday, April 4th, we will have school. At 10:30 the middle school and high school track teams will be preparing for the track meet. Student in high school and middle school who are not involved with the track meet will have a community day for two hours. I am working with the City of Pretty Prairie and Prairie Sunset Home so we can offer a helping hand. I will be helping Mr. Johnson, Mrs. Smith, Mr. Day, Mrs. Hansen as we work with the kids to help with basic landscaping tasks at the nursing home and city park. Some of our students will be able to help at the new city daycare organizing donated toys, completing fencing for the play area, and other helpful tasks. Lunch will be served at regular time, and we will have a nice relaxing afternoon at the Civic Theater for the high schoolers and the auditorium for the middle schoolers! The community day will be a great way to give back to Pretty Prairie. More details to come!

Final Exams
The Senior's last day will be on May 7th. They will take finals on May 3rd and 6th. The 8th grade's last day is May 13th. They will take finals on May 8th and 9th. (We have MS Spring Fling on the 10th). Finals for 7th Grade and HS will be on May 15th and 16th. If Regional Track falls on the 16th, those students will take those finals on the 17th.

Thank you for attending Student-Led Conferences March 4th & 5th!

Make School Attendance A Priority
Preparing for the future includes a good attendance habit. Employers continue to report that they want to see high school graduates who understand and value good attendance. Thank you, parents and guardians, for talking with your students about good attendance. Strive for 90% attendance and higher. Keep track of appointments and sick days, because these days add up. Continue to monitor your student's academic progress and seek help from teachers when necessary. Let Power School and the good tools in this database help you. Talk to our office staff about how these tools can help you even further.

Thank you for a Good Basketball Season and Sportsmanship
Your support of the Bulldogs was very much appreciated this season. Let's continue our support of the Big Blue next season! When we focus on positive support of the Bulldogs, it is a good reflection on our entire community. When we were on defense, fans chanted "Bulldogs" and "Defense." We focused less on the mistakes of our opponents, and this was an improvement on our end. Thank you for that one step towards a postivie experience at our High School games. Thank you, Bulldogs!

Thank you for your student lunch account payments!
Mr. White will send reminder notes to families when accounts get near a $15 positive balance. This allows you time to make a payment before the account reaches zero. Student lunches are $3 for full-pay. If you have any questions, please contact Mr. White in the Middle School Office.
