INFORMATION FOR PARENTS & STUDENTS

Notes from Mr. Hedrick...

HS/MS Parents:

FINAL EXAMS
The Senior will take finals on May 3rd and 6th.
The 8th grade will take finals on May 8th and 13th.
Finals for 7th Grade and HS will be on May 15th and 16th.

May 9th Community Day and HOP League Track Meet
Thursday, May 9th, we will have school. Pretty Prairie is also the host of the Heart of the Plains League Track meet for both MS and HS. At 10:00 the middle school and high school track teams will be preparing for the track meet. Student in high school and middle school who are not involved with the track meet will have another community day on the campuses of PPHS and PPGS for up to two hours. We will be taking care of some basic landscaping at both campuses. We would like to save some of the flowers in our school flower beds before windows are replaced at both campuses. Lunch will be served at regular time, and we will have a good afternoon in the auditorium with a movie. Students in high school who have internships will attend at their typical times. High school students who have SAE's (supervised agricultural experiences) that they have been working on this school year may attend to that work after lunch, but we ask those parents to speak with Mr. Hedrick in advance to help with planning for this day.

Cell Phone Reminder
Cell phones are a part of our lives. No doubt! I asked the teachers to remind the high school students in all classes to put their cell phones away during classes. Please help us by reminding them as well. We allow high school students to utilize the cell phones during passing periods and at lunch. Please remember that middle school students are not allowed to use their phone in school at all. They need to be off and away. Students can use a lock on their locker if they need to protect their belongings. Please have them visit with Mr. White in the middle school office.

School Attendance Has Improved
Thank you, parents and guardians, for talking with your students about good attendance. It has made a difference, especially during the busy month of April so far! While we want to ulimately strive for 90% attendance and above, a 100% attendance rate the rest of the school year would be amazing. We have only have a few weeks before final exams. The class time between now and then is going to be important. Remember to communicate with teachers if your student has activities.

Thank you for your student lunch account payments!
Mr. White will send reminder notes to families when accounts get near a $15 positive balance. This allows you time to make a payment before the account reaches zero. Student lunches are $3 for full-pay. If you have any questions, please contact Mr. White in the Middle School Office.
